The
King

Gonzalo "ZeRo" Barrios, born on April 17th 1995, hails from the central Chilean city of Chillán. He began playing Smash in 1999 when the original game released for the Nintendo 64. However, ZeRo suffered a difficult childhood, from his parents early separation to growing up in poverty. He was also the subject of frequent bullying.

Eventually he found his passion in playing Smash, spending countless hours refining his proficiency with the game. In 2006, he attended his first tournament for Smash Melee. He would then, frequently travel to the United States to compete in premier and major tournaments.

Following its September 14th release in 2014, ZeRo immediately experienced success with Smash 4 achieving an unrivalled 56 tournament win streak. The streak began shortly after the game's release in November 2014 and lasted until he was defeated by Nario at MLG World Finals on October 18th the following year. Because of this extraordinary feat, many consider ZeRo the undisputed best Smash 4 player in the world to this day.
